Cookie Policy
Last updated: 20 July 2026 · Effective immediately
This Cookie Policy explains which cookies and similar technologies RegSpecs ("we", "us", "our"), operated by MD Data Source Ltd, uses on regspecs.com, what they do, and how you can control them.
You can review or change your choices at any time: . For how we handle personal data more broadly, see our Privacy Policy.
2. How We Ask for Your Consent
When you first visit RegSpecs, a consent banner lets you accept or reject non-essential cookies, or customise your choices by category:
- Strictly necessary — always active; the site cannot function without them
- Analytics — help us understand how the site is used so we can improve it
- Advertising — measure whether our advertising brought you to the site
Nothing non-essential is stored on your device before you make a choice, and rejecting non-essential cookies never limits your access to the site.
Your choice is remembered on this device for up to 12 months. You can change or withdraw it at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer of every page.
3. Strictly Necessary Cookies
These are required for the website to function — signing in, paying securely, and remembering your region and consent choices. They cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| c15t | RegSpecs | Stores your cookie consent choices so we do not ask again on every visit | Up to 12 months |
| REGSPECS_LOCALE | RegSpecs | Remembers your market and language preference (UK or Ireland) | Up to 13 months |
| better-auth.session_token (and related sign-in cookies) | RegSpecs | Keeps you signed in to your account | Up to 7 days |
| __stripe_mid | Stripe | Fraud prevention and payment security during checkout | Up to 1 year |
| __stripe_sid | Stripe | Fraud prevention and payment security during checkout | 30 minutes |
Stripe cookies are set when you visit our checkout pages. Stripe processes payments on our behalf and uses these cookies solely for payment security and fraud prevention.
4. Analytics Cookies
With your consent, we use PostHog (hosted in the EU) to understand how visitors use the site — which pages are visited and which features are used — so we can improve it.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| ph_phc_* (PostHog) | PostHog (EU) | Product analytics: pages visited, feature usage, and session continuity | Up to 12 months |
If you reject analytics cookies, PostHog stores nothing on your device. We then only receive anonymous, aggregated statistics that cannot be linked to you or to your activity across visits.
5. Advertising Cookies
We advertise RegSpecs on search engines. With your consent, these cookies let us measure whether an advert brought you to the site and whether it led to a purchase. They are set only after you accept advertising cookies:
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| rs_attr | RegSpecs | First-party record of which advert click brought you to the site (for example a Google or Microsoft click reference), so a later purchase can be attributed to it | 90 days |
| _gcl_au, _gcl_aw and related Google cookies | Links Google Ads clicks to purchases so we can measure advertising performance | Up to 90 days | |
| MUID, _uetsid, _uetvid | Microsoft | Links Microsoft Advertising clicks to purchases and supports remarketing (only used if we run Microsoft advertising) | 1 day to 13 months |
If you reject advertising cookies, none of the above are stored. Google may still receive cookieless, non-identifying signals (Google Consent Mode) that let it estimate advertising performance in aggregate without identifying you or your device.
Where we report a purchase to an advertising platform, contact details are protected with one-way hashing and are only shared for purchases made after you accepted advertising cookies.
7. Managing Your Cookies
You are in control of all non-essential cookies:
- Use the consent banner shown on your first visit to accept, reject, or customise
- Change your mind at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the page footer
- Delete or block cookies through your browser settings (blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working, such as sign-in and checkout)
Withdrawing consent takes effect immediately: the related cookies stop being used and consent-dependent cookies we set ourselves are deleted.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example if we add or remove a tool.
Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date.
